We have decided to address and attack the outsourcing and exploitation going on in the administration with this campaign which will culminate in a protest in Compostela on February 11, 2011.

Protests every Thursday in front of Carrefour Expres de Pilar de la Horadada

Pilar de la Horadada local CNT continues its struggle for the reinstatement of our comrade Indira, fired for her union activism, and for her selfless battle against the "crisis" meaning, among many other attacks on social rights, an excuse to sweep safety and hygiene legislation under the carpet to improve companies' profit and loss accounts by disregarding workers' health and lives; turning having a job into playing the lottery where workers put their life and health on the line.

Adra City Government Readapts Delegate's Job

The Labor Hazard Prevention Law stipulates that a worker's job must be adapted to his or her psychological and physical conditions.

The representative of CNT's union section in the Adra City Government, Maria Carmen Terol, recently was able to readapt her position to her physical characteristics. This public servant, in Parks and Gardens, cleaned and pruned green areas, something incompatible with her chronic lumbalgia.

Flightcare will pay a salary to an employee so that he doesn't come to work

The Flightcare SL handling company, belonging to the Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas FCC group, has recently been ordered by the Labour Court No. 22 in Barcelona to reinstate a worker who belongs to the CNT union in the said company  in a decision  issued on  November 19.  However, the company, rather than abide by the sentence against him, has chosen to continue paying the worker's wages but not allow to allow him to come back to work.  This has been described by spokesperson for the CNT of L'Hospitalet de Ll., which the worker belongs to, as "unprecedented given the economic crisis facing the country." The union concerned lamented that "the is money for firing workers and starting absurd legal proceedings but not for salaries, adequate staffing, or health and safety measures".

Communique against the Militarization of the Airports

Delegates to the Tenth Congress of the National Confederation of Labour (CNT), which is being held in Cordoba from the 4- 8 of December, show our concern about the decree proclaimed by the government  establishing constitutional legal concept of the State of Emergency. This means removing certain civil rights in favor of the military and putting civilian workers in their service using threats of bayonets and imprisonment.  These authoritarian measures that are taken to address a labour dispute, regardless of corporatism on this occasion, through Francist laws that  use the army as a tool against labor disputes, clearly show the hidden face of this bourgeois and fascist constitution.

Opening the way to confront a labor problem by resorting to the military reveals the true face of a government that, like all others, does not hesitate to take off its  democratic mask when it is unable to control a situation, showing its inability and ineptitude, while leaving it crystal clear which side the state and its laws is on: the side of the employers.

To this we show our most rebellious revulsion against the militarization of public services, which means accepting that industrial disputes be suppressed by the army and this only can be called DICTATORSHIP.

Erre Ke Erre - Vincci Hotels Conflict

Erre Ke Erre has the pleasure of offering you a double header this week:

We'll be interviewing our compañero Manuel, from Granada's Oficios Varios union, regarding his conflict with Vincci Hotels. He was fired when he was on sick leave due to an accident he suffered while at work. The company attempted to negate their responsibility and get a bothersome anarco-syndicalist worker out of their hair to boot.

2nd Sentence on CNT-Zaragoza's Conflict with FCC Passed: Another Victory

Not long ago, we announced that CNT had won the first of the lawsuits against FCC in the Zaragoza city street cleaner contract. The second sentence wasn't different from the first: once again the court recognized that CNT was in the right and for the same exact reasons as in the first case.

Success Again in Protest against Repressive Dismissal of Union Section's Delegate

Another resounding success at yesterday's protest against the compaign to repress union activity being waged be SODEMASA-PAR. The large number of comrades who came out to show their support and protest against the absurd repression has made our Union Section feel stronger every day and has renewed its energies to fight and fight to win this despotic abuse. CNT wasn't the only one showing its support: passer-byers expressed their encouragement in regards to the conflict and also of the workers struggle. No one can stand on the sidelines in times like these.

CNT Wins Conflict with Siempre Creativos

Businessman Luis Alberto Redondo has been forced to pay his workers what he owed them, bending to the insistence of CNT since the end of 2008.

Luis Alberto Redondo, executive of the Siempre Creativos entertainment company, left his workers out in the cold at the end of 2008, owing them large quantities of money. Several workers at the company, members of CNT-Madrid's Graphic Arts, Communication and Entertainment union, opened a conflict with the company to fight for what they were owed. This has gone on for such a long time because of Redondo's obstinacy.

Carrefour Express in Pilar de la Horadada fires CNT union delegate

CNT's Oficios Varios union in Pilar de la Horadada is bringing charges against Carrefour for firing Indira Martínez, the CNT union delegate in the company.

CNT alleges that this layoff forms part of a strategy to harass and bring down the members of our Union Section at Carrefour.

We are resolved to make sure that Carrefour is found guilty in a court of law for violating the rights of its workers, including lheir honorable right to freely unionize and that they give Indira her old job back.

CNT's 10th Congress - Cordoba 2010

In 2010, CNT turns 100. A hundred years of struggle, peopled by our comrades, men and women who have been building the libertarian ideal with their lives and work. A century of triumphs as well as of false moves, but one always filled with the firm belief that the working class can create a different society through direct action, solidarity and self management. A society for people and not for money. This was the aspiration behind the birth of CNT 100 years ago and it is still behind it today.

CNT, 100 years of Anachosyndicalism (1910-2010)

On November 1, 1910, in the Fine Arts Center of Barcelona, the CNT - Confederación Nacional de Trabajo in Spanish or the National Confederation of Labor - was founded. This organization, successor to the Spanish chapter of the 1st International (1870), was born in the workers movement as the first independent union organization in Spain.Adopting the internationalist theme of “the emancipation of the workers will be the undertaking of the workers themselves, or will fail,” CNT held in safekeeping popular rebellion which, as a undercurrent of society itself, opposes Power throughout history. This popular feeling emerges triumphal at times throughout history, from the Egyptian Middle Empire to the French Revolution, planting the seeds for the only historical events where humanity has made giant strides in gains of liberty, justice, equality, dignity and progress.
