Protest in Murcia, Saturday, September 18, against dismissals and harassment in STV Gestión/INTERSA

CNT has a called for a demonstration on Saturday, September 18 at
11:30 am, at 26 Mariano Rojas Avenue in Murcia at the company
INTERSA’s headquarters. This act is included in CNT’s actions in
defense of the workers and CNT’s Union Section in STV Gestión from
Pilar de la Horadada, the company in charge of garbage collection and
street cleaning in this Alicante municipality.

CNT’s Union Section is being submitted to a brutal and continuous
repression. The reasons behind the dismissals are so ridiculous they
verge on the absurd. The company aims to get rid of any disobedient
employee who won’t passively accept the constant attacks on the
workers’ rights. STV Gestión’s management was spoiled by the
docility of the previous CC.OO union representative [a large
government-connected union] with whom they’d never had the slightest
conflict. The problems for the company started when CNT set up a
Union Section with an infinitely more combative frame of mind. STV
Gestión has taken up a campaign to repress the freedom to organize
and to discourage and intimidate CNT members.

Now more than ever, in the current socio-political climate, where
every legislative modification of the Workers’ Statute always
translates to an intolerable loss of working class rights, the CNT’s
Various Trades Union in Pilar de la Horadada will reaffirm itself in
its pursuit of social justice. They’ll never convince us to hold our
peace for a piece of bread, we’ll never abandon our compañeros to
their fates and we’ll defend ourselves in the streets from this
frontal attack on our Union Section because we are CNT.
